Journalism and Mass Communications are all-surrounding, both constituting and affecting how we navigate and make sense of the world, distribute information and shape our culture with their representations, stories, programmes, formats, exhibitions, repositories and data.
In affiliation with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, LLDIMS offers Bachelors degree in Journalism and Mass Communication – BA (JMC). At LLDIMS, the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication has led the way to journalism and mass communication’s future by providing firsthandexperience and intensive training to students.
The programme covers communication techniques and technologies shape who we are, how we govern ourselves and what kinds of cultures we inhabit. We embrace both media theory and media practices. Over the years, we’ve trained students who’ve reshaped their fields, some of the nation’s most high-impact journalists, and leading professionals in many other domains. The department trained students to position themselves more critically within it, preparing them for careers in the media, corporate, cultural institutions and in academia to name a few.
The department commands well established infrastructure such as Radio Labs, Television Studio, Editing Lab, Communication Lab, IT and creative hubs.The department has produced some of the well-known and hardworking anchors, independent film makers, actors, copy writers, producers, reporters, graphic artists, radio jockeys, event managers, advertising professionals and public relation officers in the topmost national and international organisations.
Today, the department remains strongly interdisciplinary. Its research faculty comes from a range of diverse streams, including Communication, Media, Public Relations, Corporate, International relations, Advertising, Television and Radio production. Its professional journalism faculties include prize-winning innovators in various domains.

Dr. Saleem Javed

Having worked in the film and television industry for ten years, Dr. Saleem Javed decided to swivel into academics. Through his teaching, he gets back to the very roots of his subject matter and produces content that is ingenious and visionary for a significant and in-depth understanding of the industry he serves and has developed an online course titled ‘Introduction to Television Production and Journalism’ for the DTH Swayam Prabha, MHRD and is contributing to the CEC- UGC, Delhi centre.
Mr. Arunesh Kumar Dwivedi
Associate Professor, Journalism and Mass Communication LLDIMS, GGSIPU
Mr. Arunesh Kumar Dwivedi is a Journalist by attitude and a Teacher by aptitude. He has more than 12 years experience in Media industry and Academics. He is UGC NET and SLET (Maharashtra & Goa) qualified. He has M.Phil in Mass Communication from AMU Aligarh and PhD (Thesis submitted). He has done PG Diploma in TV Journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia. Before joining at LLDIMS as Associate Professor, he has worked in various esteemed organizations like Jamia Millia Islamia, IIMC, ISOMES Sharda University and Mangalayatan University.
In industry, He has worked in ETV, Zee News, IBN7 and CNEB News as producer cum Anchor.
He is also casually empanelled with News Services Divisions of All India Radio Delhi.
He has participated and presented 15 research papers in National and International Conferences and Seminars. His 10 research papers are published in various journals. He has authored a book” Credibility of News Channels”. His articles are published in “Samchar Seva Bharti” a reputed magazine of All India Radio News, New Delhi. His specialization is in Electronic and Digital Media. He teaches Intro to Mass Communication, Writing for Media, TV Journalism, Radio Journalism, Digital media etc.
Ms. Mansi Chopra
Assistant Professor, Journalism and Mass Communication LLDIMS, GGSIPU.
She has Graduated from Madhubala Institute of Communication and Electronic Media (Affiliated with GGSIPU). Completed PG Diploma in Public Relations from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan. Also a master’s degree holder in MJMC from Guru Jambeshwar University, Hisar. Worked in PR industry for approximately 2 years and switched to Academics in 2015. Has a total teaching experience of over 7 years. Currently pursuing Ph.D. from Manav Rachna International University.
Mr. Hardeep Singh Bhakal
Assistant Professor, Journalism and Mass Communication LLDIMS, GGSIPU.
Mr. Hardeep Bhakal holds a masters degree from Makhanlal Chaturvedi University in Advertising and Public Relations. He has also qualified the UGC-NET Examination (December, 2019) in the subject Mass Communication and Journalism. His fields of specialization are Event management, communication and digital marketing. His expertise and depth of learning on each of the subjects which he has taught, with his unique style of teaching his students.
He has attended and presented papers at many seminars and conferences both at the International and National level. He has published many research papers in and articles in National and International Seminars/Conferences.
